Uninspiring recent release dark beer

I was disappointed with this drop after the staff raved over this recent release. Firstly, the beer was quite flat with virtually no froth or effervescence. This was not due to over cooling as I had left this about an hour at room temperature. Secondly, I felt the whiskey flavour was unimpressive, more an essence flavour than a sòlid whiskey banknote. Drinkable but not anything to rave about. This did not compare well with some other recent new arrivals in the stout category.

My colleague loves, among others, Hazy Ales. As his farewell gift I decided to buy, online, a selection of beers from the Beer Library.
