In the 1830s, the distillery in Woodford Country set the scene for a series of groundbreaking discoveries and creative practices that shaped the bourbon industry for future generations. For the 2020 Master's Collection release, Master Distiller Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall drew from both their extensive careers and the archives of that period for inspiration.
Old newspapers from the 19th century advertised auctions of "Very Fine Rare Bourbon" barrels, and the exceptional barrels of Woodford Reserve included in this Master's Collection hark back to Morris' first year as Master Distiller. He and McCall have withheld them from their regular distilling procedures to debut this exceptional package. The outcome is an intense and sultry embodiment of Woodford Reserve Bourbon.
