Are you a bar/pub?
We are licensed for on site consumption and we do encourage you to come in for a casual drink or two, but we like to think of ourselves more of a tasting room than a bar or pub. What are your hours?
You can make online orders 24-7, but delivery will will only occur between 9am and 10pm and will not be made on Christmas Day, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter, or before 1pm on ANZAC Day.
In store orders and Click & Collect are available from the hours below
Tuesday-Wednesday 12am - 7pm
Thursday-Saturday 11am - 7pm
Sunday-Monday: Closed
Are you open on [Public Holiday]?
We are closed on Christmas Day, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter, and before 1pm on ANZAC Day, but we are generally open on holidays from Noon-5. If in doubt, check our social media pages for any relevant announcements.
Where is my order?
You can track your order from the tracking link in your shipping confirmation email. If you haven't received confirmation yet, please check your spam folder. If things are taking longer than you expected, you should also check our courier delays log to see if there are any courier network issues slowing things down. You can also check the Network Status Dashboard from our courier. If you still have concerns about where your order is you can contact us at supportdesk@thebeerlibrary.co.nz and we'll happily help you out.
How much is shipping?
We have several shipping options to meet your needs.
Standard Shipping:
New Zealand:
Shipping rates are based on weight and delivery address, you will see your shipping rate on the checkout page when placing your order. We pass on our shipping rates at cost.
Australia:
We ship anywhere in Australia for the same price. Rates start at NZD 33.99 and up based on the weight of your package. You will see your shipping costs at checkout before you place your order. Please note this does not include any potential taxes or duties that may be due upon arrival to Australia. These costs, if any, are the sole responsibility of the receiver.
International:
Please contact us for a shipping quote prior to placing your order. Please note there are several countries we are unable to ship to including but not limited to: the European Union Countries, United Kingdom, Canada, Belarus, Russia, and North Korea. Due to a large number of fraudulent orders, please contact us for any orders going to Mexico. Please note any shipping quote does not include any potential taxes or duties that may be due upon arrival to the destination country. These costs, if any, are the sole responsibility of the receiver.
Same Day Christchurch Metro:
We have same day service to most of the Christchurch metro area for various rates. If we service your area, it will show up as an option at checkout.
When will I receive my shipment?
In general orders placed before noon will be processed same day. Orders placed after noon will be processed the next business day. South Island is typically one business day from when the courier picks up your order. North Island is two days from when the courier picks up your order. Rural deliveries will take an extra day or two. You will receive a tracking number by email when your order has been processed and ready to be picked up by the courier. Orders will not be processed or delivered on public holidays or weekends.
Air freight service is marketed as "overnight" by our couriers and while this is generally the timeframe, there can sometimes be delays in this delivery timeframe.
We cannot guarantee that you will always receive your shipment within these timelines due to courier delays and other unforeseen complications, but will try our very best. Please allow for extra time during the busy holiday periods of November and December.
Can you ship outside of New Zealand?
Yes, we can ship internationally. Please contact us with your order request prior to ordering so we can give you a shipping estimate. Any taxes, fees, or duties over our initial charges are not included and the responsibility of the receiver. Please note, we are not currently able to ship to the EU, UK, or various other countries.
Can you ship to a PO Box or private bag?
No, we can only deliver to a physical address.
Do I have to be home to receive my shipment?
Yes, alcohol regulations require that you or someone over 18 must sign for the package. We suggest having your order sent to a work address if nobody will be home during the day.
How do I pay online?
For your convenience we offer payment by credit card/EFTPOS through Shopify Payments. You can also use a part payment plan with are partners at AfterPay for orders over $50.
Can you get Pliny/Heady Topper/Three Floyds/etc.?
No. These beers, along with so many others, are hard to get in their own cities, let alone half way around the world. But if you have an idea for what we should stock, let us know and we'll try our best. We're always looking for new and interesting beers.
Do you have Helium Beer?
Unfortunately helium beer is impossible. Helium is not soluble in water and so will not stay in the beer. The videos that are available online stem from a Sam Adams April Fools Day joke. You can read more about it here. We wish it were possible because it sounds hilarious, but unfortunately physics is holding us down once again.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, you can purchase vouchers in the shop or online here.
