Founded in 2003, Iago Bitarishvili's wine cellar is located in the village of Chardakhi and is built in a traditional style containing qvevri, a stone winepress, a place for storing wine and a tasting room. Here you will also find a traditional pergola decorated with ethnographic elements, a traditional breadoven (tone) and a Chacha distillery. Besides wine tastings, guests can participate in the grape harvest and in preparing and tasting traditional Georgian dishes. Iago Bitarishvili produces traditional qvevri wine from red and white grape varieties. Iago’s wine cellar was the first in Georgia to receive a bio-certificate for its vineyard.
The 2ha vineyard is situated in the Mukhrani valley, which is one of the best and historically well-known sites in Georgia for growing Chinuri grape varietal.
