In 1753, Swiss Mennonite farmer John Shenk founded Shenk’s distillery, which was later renamed Bomberger’s Distillery in the 1800s before having its name changed once again to Michter’s Distillery in the mid-20th Century.
Bomberger's Declaration Distillery Bourbon honors the legacy of the former distillery known as Bomberger's in the 1800's and later as Michter's in the 20th Century. Please join us in toasting and celebrating American Whiskey History with this outstanding small batch 108 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
The 2021 release of Bomberger's is a robust Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 108 proof with a broad spectrum of distinctively rich characters. For the aging of this release, the maturation team chose special barrels, some of which were made from Chinquapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) oak that has been naturally air dried for over 3 years. While similar barrels were used in the 2019 and 2020 releases of Bomberger's, this year the production team opted to accentuate rich characters and depth by adjusting the char levels of the Chinquapin oak barrels thereby resulting in a wonderfully distinctive Kentucky straignt bourbon.
