The US1 expressions, so named to honor Michter’s heritage harkening back to America’s first whiskey company, consist of some of the finest single barrel and truly small batch whiskeys available. Distilled to Master Distiller Dan McKee’s exacting specifications, no US1 whiskey is ever released until Dan and the Michter’s tasting panel deems it ready.
Michter's US1 Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon was first introduced to great acclaim in the fall of 2014 and is a groundbreaking whiskey expression. It is made by taking Michter's US1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon and then aging it for an additional period in a second custom made barrel. This second barrel is assembled from 18 month air dried wood and then toasted but not charred. The truly unique and delicious taste of this expression represents a remarkable achievement given that it is Kentucky Straight Bourbon with nothing added or done except placement in a second toasted barrel.
State of Distillation: Kentucky
Bottling Strength: 91.4 proof (45.7% ABV)
Cooperage: First Barrel - Fire-charred, new American white oak barrels; Second Barrel - Toasted barrel made from 18 month air dried wood
Tasting Notes: Campfire and cinnamon, with pecan and candied fruit. Lingering finish of baked pears, vanilla, and marshmallow.

Farewell to a colleague - online purchase
My colleague loves, among others, Hazy Ales. As his farewell gift I decided to buy, online, a selection of beers from the Beer Library.
Online purchasing was a breeze with the ability to select products by style with current stock levels and quantity of purchase options in some cases.
I was emailed that the collection of my dozen or so beers was available after only a couple of hours. All were chilled when collected.
