On crisp winter nights in Oamaru, the Craftwork team brew O’ambic, their spontaneously fermented traditional style Belgian sour ale. After a year in the barrel, it results in a tangy citrusy beer of great complexity. The barrels are blended and some set aside for fruit additions. This year, Craftwork we’re happy to be given some black boy peaches which then sat in a fermenter of O’ambic for another six months. This ‘Peach Of The Vine’ Lambic-style ale has beautiful colour, smells of candy, and has a tart and peachy flavour. Serve with a rich fruit dessert!
