Each year we take the time to celebrate our small brewery. ̴Ì_This years brew is a red saison, farmhouse ale. ̴Ì_Saisons were the drink fo the French speaking farmers of Wallonia, in Belgium. ̴Ì_The farmer brewers' used whatever was at hand, or 'a plenty' at harvest time.
We decanted our saison into a Waitaki pinot noir barrel, added our own fresh redcurrants and threw in some brettanomyces yeast, for secondary fermentation. ̴Ì_Tart and fruity, this is a rather unusual take on the traditional ale. ̴Ì_Happy birthday to us and thanks to you, from Craftwork.
