Grown in Ataahua Winery's Church Road vineyard in Waipara, this Gewurztraminer has been made from the fruit off their youngest vines. The hand-harvested grapes were foot-stomped in the traditional manner, then pressed, and the juice fermented slowly in seasoned barrels to produce a delicious wine bursting with the distinctive aromas of lychees, rose petal and subtle spices. These flavours flow through into the palate in a wonderful blend with an off-dry finish. This Gewurztraminer is great with many spicy and flavourful foods including Thai and most asian cuisine dishes using lemongrass, coriander, chilli and lime to name a few.

The Maori translation of Ataahua is beautiful, picturesque, a place of beauty ‰ۡÌÝÌÕ so appropriate to the valley, the vineyard and the wines alike. A major part of Ataahua‰ۡó»s philosophy for growing grapes then carefully making that fruit into wine is to translate and express the beauty of the vineyard and area into wines that people can relate to and absolutely enjoy.
