The Spirits Workshop - the people behind Divergence Whiskies and Curiosity Gins - was established in late 2015 by a group of whisky enthusiasts and are on a mission to craft distinctly New Zealand spirits with a small still. Their aim is to produce New Zealand's most acclaimed craft spirits, believing that quality food and beverages gain value from the stories behind them. This led them to explore how they could introduce their unique New Zealand flavors to the spirits world.
The journey began with Yoyo, the original 50-litre pot still, which was instrumental in creating the first four variants of Curiosity Gin. Yoyo remains operational, but in 2019, the addition of a 500-litre still significantly expanded their production capabilities, now encompassing all their gin and whiskey offerings, including Divergence Whiskey.
Antony, holding the titles of Chief Gin Officer, Master Distiller, and Managing Director, transitioned from a two-decade-long corporate career to leverage his expertise in chemistry, engineering, and strategy. He leads The Spirits Workshop in its quest to innovate and share New Zealand's unique spirit offerings with the world.
